Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission, APPSC, has conducted the Preliminary Phase of the written exam for the Group 2 Services Recruitment. The preliminary exam was conducted on 25 February 2024 at thousands of examination centres across the state.
Following this, the Group 2 Preliminary exam results will be released in the next 5 to 8 weeks on the official website. According to the official notification released by the commission upon the conclusion of the exam, more than 4 lakh candidates participated in the prelims. The examination was held at 1327 Venues in 24 Districts of Andhra Pradesh.

Update on Results
The commission was supposed to announce the preliminary examination results by the end of March. However, the results have been deferred for now due to the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct by the ECI in the state. If we get any update on this, we will publish it here.

This preliminary examination was conducted against the direct recruitment of 897 vacancies in group 2 services of the state. The online application process was completed from 21 December 2023 to 10 January 2024, and many candidates applied for these posts. The commission had received more than 4,65,000 applications for these posts.
APPSC Group 2 Exam Overview
- The Prelims exam is conducted as an OMR-based Exam offline.
- The Question paper carried 150 MCQ-type questions.
- The questions asked were to test the candidates’ General Studies and Mental Ability.
- The candidates were given 150 minutes to complete the paper.
- There will be a negative marking of 1/3 marks for incorrect answers.
The candidates who get declared qualified will be participating in the main exam. It is expected that the commission will shortlist 15 times candidates for the main exam. The paper pattern for the main exam will be the following.
APPSC Group 2 Result Preparation Process
The commission will follow a specific process to prepare the Group 2 Prelims Result. At first, an initial key is released for the candidates to cross-check the answer sheets. This key is released to keep transparency for the result preparation. Aspirants are asked to raise objections against the incorrect answers (if any) in the initial key. Based on the objections, the commission reviews the answer key and prepares a final one. The answer sheets are then evaluated accordingly.
This way, candidates participate in the result preparation directly and eliminate any chances of discrepancy.
Group 2 Prelims Expected Cut-Off Marks
The commission has already announced that the candidates scoring specific qualifying marks will be considered for the next stage. The category-wise qualifying marks are 40%, 35%, 30%, and 30% for the Open Category, OBC, SC and ST, respectively. The candidates scoring more marks than qualifying marks will make the shortlist.

- On this, select APPSC Website.
- You will be redirected to the main, and here you can see the option to check the result.
