Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education
Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE) examination are written by learners who are completing their final grade at primary school. Six papers are administered and these are; English, Chichewa, Mathematics, Social and Religious Studies, Primary Sciences, Arts and Life Skills. For a candidate to pass the examination he/she must obtain a pass in at least five subjects including English.
The PSLCE examination is used by the Ministry of Education to select learners to all public secondary schools.
As the world and its systems are changing with the sole aim of pursuing the desired improved standards of life and ironing out stiff processes that are time consuming and hectic for mankind, the integration of electronic system in the day-to-day activities has proved times without number to be the ideal solution and the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) has not been left out.
With support from the Ministry of Education, under the Equity with Quality and Learning at Secondary (EQUALS) project, MANEB has embarked on an electronic system for registering candidates and payment of their examination fees, known as e-registration and e-payment, respectively.
This new system has been introduced as one way of combating the challenges faced through the use of semi- automated Microsoft Excel-based registration system and it is meant to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and accountability in the registration of candidates and collection of examination fees by MANEB.
